A perplexing question I get on occasion is, “How did I get Joan into backpacking?”
This question, if you know Joan at all, is odd, to put it mildly: Joan’s a very accomplished backpacker enjoying off-trail jaunts she plots out herself. And she enjoyed backpacking well-before she met me.
Here’s my take on this question.
