With my lovely wife and favorite hiking partner away in the Canadian Rockies and the roads flooding on Friday evening here in Moab and nearby, I took a quick backpacking trip in the La Sal mountains.
The “River Road” along the Colorado River. There’s pavement somewhere in there.
The bike path we use for errands and social outings is located under that water.
It’s a small range in area, but I can be from my door to a 9k ft trailhead in under an hour.
During the summer, it is an incredible oasis that rises from the desert floor.
There was no goal per se; I just walked until I felt like camping and then walked out again this morning.
Yes, indeed, this is more wonderful “structured rambling.”
Just beautiful! Thanks for all of your posts.
