Some hiking and backpacking in the Moab area. My friend Joan will soon be leaving the Moab area, so one last trip (for now!) had to be done.
Just a few days of enjoying basecamp in Bears Ears. I hiked, I read, I scrambled up the cliffs and just took in the views for hours at a time. Why? Because I can. 🙂
Almost a week spent camping, hiking, exploring, and enjoying both the well-known and the obscure in Hovenweep and Canyons of The Ancients National Momuments.
Three days in The Valley of The Gods. An ideal location for exploring the area.
Some talks I’ll be giving in upcoming weeks.
A visit to Zion National Park on my way to points west. Conveniently, I have friends associated with the park!
I visited a friend in Moab, saw some unique pictographs, enjoyed Arches National Park in the off-season, and wondered how the government shutdown would affect my trip.
Four days of backpacking and an additional day of hiking and camping exploring the Ancient Puebloan culture in (what is for now) the Bears Ears National Monument at the Cedar Mesa and Grand Gulch areas.
One last post for my Utah walk. Songs stuck in my head while being out by myself. Call it a bonus post.
A summary of my Walk Across Southern Utah. More information about the route, resupply, water, permits, gear, etc.
