An overnight backpacking trip in the lower San Juans. The fierce winds kept us off the alpine terrain in the morning, but the areas below tree line still proved lovely.
We started the weekend with a quick camp along the way at the Dolores River.

The wildflowers are giving away the merest hint of fall as we spotted some yellow aspen leaves here and there, along with some ground cover just starting to turn red.
