After my time on the Hayduke, I met Joan at The Fremont Indian State Park and Museum for a night of camping.
Joan met up for a regional meeting as part of her recent part-time job in the state of Utah. She and her fellow coordinators workshopped, met up, socialized, and went on some archeological talks (of course!)
After sorting my gear on Friday, I drove up on Saturday, met everyone for the tail end of the talks, and went camping with another coordinator who knows some of our other colleagues.
Besides a quiet and beautiful fall evening, Fremont Indian State Parks’s images are second only to Nine Mile Canyon in terms of the overall amount in an area.
Every time we revisit, we appreciate this gem’s importance, uniqueness, and beauty, which many people pass but don’t always seem to savor and enjoy.
If you find yourself traveling along the I70 corridor, consider half a day (or more) to take in what this park has to offer.
