A weekend in Pando

We like to meet up with our good friends Holly and Dan somewhere between Moab and Salt Lake.

A chance to catch up, share our love for the outdoors, and enjoy the company of friends.

We met up at Fish Lake.

It is one of the largest natural lakes in Utah, a significant route for The Old Spanish Trail, and in recent years, it has been well-known as the home of Pando.

One of the largest organisms in the world, this aspen forest makes for pleasant camping, hiking, and an enjoyable weekend.

Our quiet campsite let us take in the woods, enjoy the light show, and a fortunate spot sheltered from the noticeable heavy gusts that weekend.

The hikes featured a lakeside stroll, walking along the historical paths, and an ice cream stop at the historic lodge.

Fish Lake Lodge from Utawesome. The lodge dates back to the 1920s.

Good to see our friends. We returned to Moab and enjoyed taking the backways as we went home.
