@ramblinghemlock did some volunteer-related work y @ramblinghemlock did some volunteer-related work yesterday, and I cleaned, sorted, and restocked gear and supplies after my river trip. Today, however, we checked on one of the sites we monitor and took advantage of the cool morning air to peek around and "see what we could see." We looked at a panel we had not seen earlier. Soon, the fall temperatures will accompany the fall season here on the Colorado Plateau, and we can return to Canyon Country for trips further into the backcountry. #utah #moab #moabutah #petroglyphs #hiking

The highlights included going through the rapids of Cataract Canyon. The Enshittification of Gaia GPS u/numbershikes, The Enshittification of Gaia GPS u/numbershikes, curator of OpenLongTrails.org, passed along some troubling info about Gaia becoming not only more a social media app, but a rather skeevy way of default sharing of information for any new tracks, waypoints, etc. The TL;DR is that Gaia is now potentially sharing new tracks and GPX waypoints unless you mark it as private. And based on their past behavior, I don’t trust them for legacy tracks. 🗺️ LINK IN PROFILE 🗺️
