Our original plan meant going up one road, driving up some muddy and icy road conditions, and, at least, driving for two more hours round-trip.
We’d rather hike.
So we did “Plan B” and went to see some well-known, and always magnificent, places, saw some new places for us, and enjoyed the quiet and stunning canyon on a colder December night.
Hot drinks, puffy layers, and chocolate kept us warm through the day and into the winter night.
And the usual winter light show did not disappoint.

We love the winter light of canyon country, the solitude, and how the nooks and crannies of what we call home always seem to reveal themselves more and more with each trip.
