With temperatures continuing their march toward 100F, and fuel prices climbing to almost $5 a gallon, we again looked to our local mountains for outdoor fun and relief from the heat.

Joan and I did a quick overnight camping and hiking trip at 10,000 feet.

We returned to a favorite spot and did our usual hikes from this area.

Cool weather, plenty of wildflowers, and a favorite place to escape the summer heat of Moab.

The local mountains delight us every year and make summer in our desert home that much more enjoyable.
