Tacticool’s quest is most likely to check off his list of instagram spots and not even recall the rambles to the destination. For some it’s mainly about the destination and the race to get there. For others it’s about the journey and savoring the moment.
What I have always enjoyed most about your narration is that you are totally “untacticool”. In my experience the most untacticools are quite often the most authentic.

I can’t take credit for the “tacti-cool” phrase but it fits the miltary cosplayers. I use military surplus because it’s affordable and effective (esp for cold weather gear) but not for satorial flair.

May years ago I wondered Rome in that same way (minus the iphone.) Had some amazing food, improved my highschool and college Italian, and had a great time. When I tried suggesting something to my first German-national wife when visting family…well, I did not speak any German, but I did know what “NEIN” meant. 😀
