I know! All to create buzz over a new product so people buy the latest and greatest. Ah ... Capitalism.

It is why I buy 2 or 3 pairs at a time.

Emboldened by your endorsement, I will likely be trying a pair of these. I was very happy with the original Terraventure model several years ago and am currently quite pleased with the Pursuit. Sadly they all but disappeared from the market after the very quick release of the Pursuit 2.

As you’ve lamented about Salomon, Topo often makes significant changes across releases. When the Terraventure 5 comes out, you might consider taking them up on their “risk free trial.” A couple reserve pairs of the 4 may then be warranted.

Shoes are such a subjective and expensive thing. So frustrating when you find a great model only to see it transform in some irredeemable way. I wish brands would continue producing the previous iteration of a model until a another new model comes around. As in keep producing the Terraventure 4 until there is a Terraventure 6, and the 5 until the 7 is released.
