Big Bend makes for some impressive scenery. If not for the 80 MPH gusts predicted, we had planned to backpack at Guadalupe Mountains NP (also in TX) as well.

Big Bend has been my favorite desert destination for nearly 50 years (I have also spent a lot of time in your neck of the desert too including working one season in Moab) and it continues to call me back.
