I suggest read a book that presents a common-sense approach to backpacking. This will help you avoid many mistakes. At some point this guide will be finished and have everything that necessary to give the reader a good start. For people who hate reading, I would recommend Allen &#038; Mike’s Really Cool Backpackin’ Book which is short, fun read with humorous illustrations.
