Great review! I would like to see this move and have no experience with long term tracking so that was really insightful to see it from your perspective. Will keep it in mind when I see the film.

I appreciate you review not being critical in someone else's experience, people hike for many different reasons. We should all be glad that an extended time in the outdoors has once again healed someone from the demons that haunt all of us in many ways. After I got home from the the movie at midnight I took a 6 mile walk through my neighborhood just to reflect back and to celebrate that nature itself had once again sent someone on to a more enjoyable life.

First let me say I have not yet hiked the PCT. In the past year I have been giving the idea a great deal of thought and, last 3 months have started preparing for a 2016 thru hike Nobo.
My wife and I saw the movie together. My wife like Paul's wife is not a avid hiker.
My wife and I did not like the movie. I thought it had to many flash backs of her struggles in life. To me that made the movie boring.
I was hoping the movie would have had more scenes of the trail and her physical struggles on the trail with more interaction with thru hikers.
I only liked 2 scenes of the entire movie really.
1st was in her room trying to get her pack on her back, and 2nd when she thru her boots over the cliff.
