Perhaps I did not make myself clear, either. Meaning, whether they make use of it or not, the tools are there. No skin off my back if they stick to AllTrails. Fewer people at the edge of nowhere. Ha!

sorry I didn’t express myself clearly. my experience is very very few people wish to take that step toward growing up. maybe it was beaten out of them culturally as all children are born with those traits. I dont know for sure, just that the vast majority of folks want a savior, someone to hold their hand, and most importantly to blame if things go wrong.

OTOH, if the folks asking “Where’s the great panel?!?!” want that kind of information, those are the steps they’ll need to take.

Not “good luck with that,” but rather this is just the practical reality.

If I wanted the food of my childhood, I couldn’t wait around for someone to open an Italian-American bakery here in Moab. I taught myself to make taralli. And now my friends, enjoy it, too.

Same goes for experiencing wild places. You’ve got to find your own way to bake your own taralli (and "wandis", frittata, pasta and peasm, etc. Which reminds me, it's almost dinner time here)
