With the pole design, I think the use I quoted above should just work fine.

I would not want to take it for a ski tour above treeline. But at a campground during some overnight snow? I&#039;d use it for those purposes myself.

Alps Mountaineering makes some good &quot;Bread and butter&quot; gear and I&#039;ve been pleased with every product we&#039;ve owned by them.]]></description>

Just out of curiosity, &lt;strong&gt;how do you think this particular tent would hold up under several inches of snow?&lt;/strong&gt;  I&#039;m looking for a &quot;one-size-fits-all&quot; car camping tent that will work for year round trips.  A full-on &quot;4-season&quot; or mountaineering tent is probably overkill for my winter needs, but this tent looks like (on paper anyway) like it just might be sturdy enough to handle an occasional below treeline mountain snowstorm, if needed.
