For reasons that are rather convoluted, I ended up crossing Nevada to the Bay Area. I did not stop too much other than some simple camping at some dispersed sites in BLM land. But I did get to travel in the Great Basin area.
A pit stop was made at the excellent California Trail Interpretive Center.
And I had a memorable night in Nevada overlooking a valley below. The free BLM site was superb.
Not quite what I planned, but memorable in its own way.
